Jasmin is a social and behavioral researcher, author, speaker, podcaster, and cultural identity advocate.

Born in the Middle East to an Arabian father and Italian mother, Jasmin has lived the intersectionality of her identities though challenges and triumphs as the product of the first generation of bi-cultural children in a conservative and isolated Saudi Arabia of the 1970s/80s. Jasmin  immigrated to the United States in 1999 where she completed her education in Wyoming and Washington State; her degrees are in sociology, creative writing, multiculturalism, and ethical leadership.

Jasmin’s areas of expertise are Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), social identity, social/cultural oppression, women’s rights, multi-cultural perspective, racial/ethnic understanding, global DEI, radical ideology, leadership, and social/professional bias.

In her memoir, The Last Sandstorm, Jasmin highlights the colorful and challenging experiences of her upbringing in Saudi Arabia, which led to her harrowing escape in her 20s.

Jasmin is the host of the podcast “I Want You To Meet”, where she engages with artists and activists in inspiring and educational conversations. Jasmin is the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA. She guest lectures and speaks at events, colleges, and retreats. Jasmin earned her Master's Degree from The Evergreen State College in Public Administration with an emphasis on Public Policy and Diversity & Equity in Leadership. She is currently working on her second book, a social analysis of obscure cultural identities.
